Lottery: “FIND THE JOKER”
The lottery, “FIND THE JOKER,” offers cumulative prizes, meaning that the value of the jackpot accumulates as long as the “JOKER” has not been drawn. The object of the game is to draw the “JOKER.” The sale price of each ticket is $5.
Distribution of weekly sales revenue (less 12% administrative fees):
- Winning ticket 30%
- Joker jackpot 25%
- Fatima Community Center Committee 45%
With this lottery, you have two chances to win each week. Ticket sales end at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, and the amount of the respective prizes will be known before the draw. A first draw among all tickets sold during the week will take place every Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at “L’Éveil” (Coop de Fatima).
The holder of the drawn ticket will automatically win 30%. If the holder of the drawn ticket is not present, they will be contacted by telephone (using the phone number written on the ticket), and the ticket holder must return the call before Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.; otherwise, we will proceed with drawing a second ticket on Wednesday morning at the same designated draw location.
The holder of the drawn ticket will be invited to turn over a card for the “jackpot,” this time at the “Place des Iles” shopping centre (Lavernière), on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. If the ticket holder cannot be physically present for the second draw (turning over a card), they may appoint another person to act on their behalf by proxy.
During this second draw, the holder of the winning ticket (or the person designated for the draw) must draw one card from a regular deck of 52 cards, plus “ONE JOKER.” The goal is to draw “THE JOKER,” that is, “the jackpot,” which represents another 25%, plus the accumulated prize (if applicable). If “THE JOKER” is not drawn, then the card drawn each week will be recorded and removed from the deck, and the jackpot will continue to grow from draw to draw until a participant draws “THE JOKER.” After each draw, the remaining cards will be shown to the public, confirming that the JOKER was indeed in the deck at the time of the draw.
Each week, after the Wednesday 1:00 p.m. draw, all non-winning tickets will automatically be destroyed. Once the Wednesday draw is complete, ticket sales for the following week may begin.
To participate in the draw, you must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of Quebec. The information written on the ticket must be complete and legible; this is the responsibility of the ticket holder.
The rules of this lottery are posted at the two locations where the draws take place: La Coop IGA l’Éveil in Fatima and the Place des Iles shopping centre in Lavernière.
